About the Role

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Application Engineer to join our team. As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing the technological market, looking for new opportunities to apply Primemas SoC chiplets, designing and implementing proof-of-concept solutions in FPGA, and reaching out to our customers and partners to ensure alignment with their technical requirements and general needs.

This role is ideal for individuals with a strong drive for innovation and problem-solving, the ability to think outside the box, and a desire to work across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Explore the current technological market for new opportunities to apply Primemas SoC chiplets.
  • Reach out to potential partners and customers to ensure alignment with their vision and needs.
  • Work closely with software application engineers to define, implement, and demonstrate proof-of-concept solutions for potential application cases.
  • Write, verify, and maintain hardware RTL code for the proof-of-concept solutions.
  • Run and validate the proof-of-concept hardware designs in FPGAs.
  • Collaborate with the SoC hardware and software design teams to optimize the next-generation chiplets based on the application cases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of design/application engineering experience or Ph.D. with a related research experience.
  • System level perspective, understanding, and approach.
  • Coding experience with Verilog or SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with AMBA bus protocols (AXI, AXI-Stream).
  • Understanding of FPGA design and development flow (synthesis, implementation, bitstream generation).
  • Knowledge of FPGA devices and tools from at least one vendor.
  • Unintimidated to build complicated processing systems from ground up (idea to implementation).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Programming experience with Python and/or C++.
  • General understanding of chiplet-based solutions and die-to-die interfaces.
  • Knowledge of AMD (Xilinx) FPGA/ACAP devices and tools.
  • Experience with Synopsys Synplify software is a plus.
  • Experience with ARM-based FPGA SoC devices, e.g., AMD Zynq.
  • Experience with either AI or data analytics software and/or hardware tools is a plus.
